Frequently Asked Questions
In the past year, hail has been reported in your area, and even small hail, measuring just 0.75 inches, can cause damage to siding and gutters. Fortunately, many insurance policies cover cosmetic damage, allowing you to restore your home’s appearance and protect its value. This presents an excellent opportunity to update your exterior with minimal expense to you.
Most insurance companies assess roof damage by inspecting a 100 sq. ft. area for hail impacts. If the damage meets their criteria, they may approve a full replacement. For siding, damaged aluminum panels are replaced, and if your original material is unavailable, as is often the case, many insurers will cover matching the rest. We offer a free inspection using the same standards to help you understand the extent of your damage and if it is worth a claim.
Yes! Almost all policies cover you for storm damage, even if your roof/siding is old or in poor condition. Major storms like the recent one are rare and have prompted insurers to deploy Catastrophe Teams to manage the high volume of claims. Your policy requires them to cover your loss at fair market value.
Natural events like hailstorms are considered “Acts of God” and state law prohibits insurers from raising your premiums due to claims such as these that are outside of your control to prevent. While insurance companies can choose not to renew policies, it’s very unlikely they would do so based on a single weather-related claim.
Once your claim is approved, your insurance company will issue an initial payment for the Actual Cash Value (ACV) of the damage - typically covering one-third to two-thirds of the total cost. After the work is completed, we bill the insurer for the remaining amount, known as depreciation. In the end, you’re only required to pay your deductible per state law.
